Director Kortney HolmanWelcome to West County Day School at OFallon. We are located next to Crossroads Elementary near Winghaven and Highway N. We are open Monday-Friday from 6:00 a.m. 6:30 p.m. Our beautiful school features a computer lab/library, large indoor gym area and two outdoor playgrounds. Our specialized curriculum program features Zoo Phonics, DNealien Handwriting, Math Their Way, Baby Signs, Spanish and a Literacy program. Our curriculum features a different theme each month which is incorporated into all circle times, art projects, and other classroom activities.
West County Day School at OFallon is proud to have a wonderful team of teachers who consistently provide a loving and stimulating environment for our children. We believe that communication with our parents is the key to our success therefore we provide written and verbal daily communication. At West County Day School we consider ourselves to be one big happy family by partnering with our families and the community at large.
We offer full and part time programs for children ages six weeks through twelve years old, with free transportation before and after school to children attending area schools for Kindergarten-5th grade.
Our vision for the center is to educate, train and prepare children for the ever changing world they are challenged with today. We want them to be strong and healthy in every aspect – emotionally, mentally, socially, intellectually and physically.

Simply put, children learn best by doing by exploring, playing and being hands-on learners. From creative art projects to a focus on phonics and math that makes learning to read and working with numbers fun, the preschool curriculum and activities at West County Day School is built for your enthusiastic learner.
Our Creative Kaleidoscope of Learning curriculum is based upon a monthly theme that incorporates Zoo-Phonics, Math Their Way, Science, Literacy skills, Social Studies, Fine Motor Skills/Handwriting, Cooking, Art, Music and Movement Activities. A daily schedule is followed and balances teacher directed learning with Discovery Centers throughout each classroom that offer children a wide variety of choices and play experiences. Each activity is matched to the characteristic ages and stages of ability for the age group, as well as the individual child.
West County Day School recognizes the importance of building self-esteem at a very young age. We encourage a positive sense of self by using praise, encouraging independence and building on their skills. Manners are also encouraged in the classroom throughout the day.
Studying other countries and cultures is a part of our monthly preschool curriculum and activities. Pictures, posters and books are displayed throughout the classrooms. Circle time discussions are enhanced with hands-on art, games and cooking activities. Children participate in Spanish language classes.

Early Reading Program Our phonics lessons help many children read before they get to Kindergarten Handwriting Our lessons will have your child writing their name and more. You child will feel at ease as they transition into Kindergarten writing lessons. Hands-on Math and in select schools Math Their Way Basic preschool math lessons come to life in our classrooms and activities Spanish Current research shows that children 2 -12 years of age master a second language with an ease not seen in any other age groups. Our preschool Spanish classes lay the foundation during this distinct window of opportunity for the acquisition of another language.
