Buchanan County Head Start is a federally funded, non profit organization currently serving 189 children in Buchanan County.
The program is governed by the Buchanan County Board of Supervisors, the programs grantee board, and
the Parent Policy Council, consisting of current head start parents and community representatives.
Buchanan County Head Start is a community pre-school program that prepares low-income children for
success in school and gives them a true “head start” as they move from pre-k years into the public school system.
