Preschool in Orange Park, FL 32073
Wonderworks is accredited by the United Methodist Association of Preschools (UMAP) which ensures that our church-related program meets and/or exceeds state licensing standards to provide children the best possible environment program curriculum and experiences. In May of 2006 Wonderworks received the United Methodist Association’s Gold Seal Accreditation and has continued to receive that honor yearly. Our school is listed with the State of Florida as a Gold Seal School. Gold Seal Quality Care designation reflects quality care and supervision. Along with the Gold Seal we are also licensed by the state of Florida (license # CO4CL0055) to provide you with the best child care. If you would like to review our credentials you may call 904-264-7330 and we would be happy to share with you.
We keep our staff-to-child ratios below state requirements. When a class reaches our maximum enrollment we establish a waiting list and contact parents when we can accommodate their children.
Also we give priority to members of our governing body the Orange Park United Methodist Church before open registration.
We carefully select our staff to provide the best possible care and education for your child. Our staff members are warm nurturing and understand child development. They apply their knowledge in the classroom and respect each child as an individual. Wonderworks staff value working as a team with parents colleagues and volunteers.
All staff members are high school graduates and many have college degrees and training as well as certification as a Child Development Associate.

We consider our school a place of creative teaching and creative play that leads to and develops effective learning.
While we don’t place a strong emphasis on academic training planned learning activities are a part of each day’s routine. Our curriculum is monthly themes that are based on the Saxon Early Learning Curriculum as well as the United Methodist Association of Preschools’’ curriculum.
Our teaching practices incorporate whole language with practical life skills such as sorting pouring matching and building. This enables a child to develop strong pre-reading and pre-math skills which serve as building blocks for future academic years.
Our developmentally appropriate curriculum provides for all areas of a child’s development: physical emotional social cognitive and spiritual.
As we share God’s message with the children we are intentional and deliberate about including daily chapel and prayers Bible verses and Bible stories.
We wish however to serve the larger community regardless of religious preference and affiliation. We DO NOT seek to impose the doctrines of the United Methodist Church upon anyone.
Rather we seek only to instill in children a sense of God in all of life while remaining sensitive to the traditions and/or practices of the many varied families we serve. We evaluate your child with Ages and Stages of the Saxon Curriculum and also the Berganse Test. These are done at certain milestones to assist in monitoring your child’s development.
The Saxon Curriculum is an integrated early childhood program that provides exciting and motivating materials that work together to inspire learning and teaching in a smoothly organized classroom.
