Jewish Community Center Early Childhood Department

We provide activities and enrichment for children from three months through age 5 (including Kindergarten). Both of our Early Childhood Centers are licensed by the State of Maryland.

Children begin their school years at the JCC in a warm, nurturing environment led by experienced, certified early childhood educators. We provide a well-rounded program designed to build a child’s self-confidence, encourage friendships, and explore new concepts. Our challenging curriculum includes music, art, circle time, swimming, gym, Hebrew, computer, cooking and creative play.

Our program also introduces children to the customs and traditions of Jewish life, Shabbat and Jewish holidays through the integration of songs, art, stories, food and special guests.

An additional benefit of our preschool/childcare program is the JCC staff of Jewish Educators, Health & Fitness instructors and the excellent facilities which are available to our young students. All school programs are certified and/or licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education, the Department of Human Resources and the Maryland State Department of Health and Hygiene.
Our state-of-the-art Early Childhood Education Wing incorporates the best in contemporary thinking about learning environments for young children. The facility features sparkling classrooms, child-size bathrooms, a gross motor room, teaching kitchen, and computer areas. The rooms are furnished with the latest, as well as time-honored, games, toys, furniture, and other materials. Our students have access to three outdoor playgrounds each of which offers a totally different environment for creative play and learning.
