Our son went to Redwood for three years- Preschool through kindergarten, and we can’t say enough about the wonderful start he got there. Kim & Jeff nurtured his budding intellect as well as his sense of responsibility and community, giving him the tools to become an active and independent student—a “lifelong learner,” as the Montessorians say. We’ll always be grateful for the time he was able to spend at Redwood—not only with Kim & Jeff, but with the other wonderful kids and families that make up the Redwood community.
Redwood Montessori School is more than a place that inspires our children academically and intellectually. Encompassing the whole child, the curriculum encourages children to challenge themselves on all levels of learning. Each child’s individuality is embraced as he or she develops emotionally and physically. Incorporating current events and a natural love of all cultures, Kim and Jeff Mattison create an environment where children can express a genuine curiosity about the world in which they live. Celebrating Montessoris belief that children can achieve anything, the children are never constrained by work that does not challenge them. On the contrary, Kim and Jeff go to great lengths to make sure each child is given resources that will solidify their love of learning. While all of these attributes make Redwood Montessori School the academic model for twenty-first century educational institutions, the most important feature of the school is that the kids just have a lot of fun!
