Har Sinai Hebrew Congregation, founded in 1857 in Trenton, New Jersey, is a Reform Jewish Congregation, affiliated with the URJ, serving the greater Delaware Valley.
We are an inclusive congregation welcoming all who wish to learn about Judaism, teach it to their children, and live a Jewish life. We are dedicated to fulfilling the historic covenant between God and the Jewish People. We seek to infuse the timeless teachings of Torah into our daily lives. Ours is an open, moving and evolving concept of living Judaism. We seek to provide a sense of community (hevruta) among our members, to enhance Jewish family life and culture, and to promote the practice of Jewish values and mitzvot, social action and social justice in our daily lives, at home, at work, and in our community. We take pride in our congregational history and longevity which reflects the congregations ability to respond to a changing world in creative and constructive ways. We support the traditional functions of our Synagogue as a House of Assembly, Study, and Worship. We recognize Israel as a center for Jewish spiritual and cultural life and affirm our link to the land of Israel and its people. As members of World Jewry (Klal Yisrael), we are dedicated to the well being of Jews everywhere.Want more information?
Ours is an open, moving, evolving concept of living Judaism. Har Sinai Temple functions as an extended family, warm, friendly and open-minded. We are dedicated to continuing the traditions of our faith and serving the religious needs of the growing Reform Jewish community in Mercer and Bucks counties. Founded in 1857, we are the oldest congregation in the area —and at the same time the youngest-continuing to respond in a dynamic, creative manner to our members’ needs. We are large enough to offer a full program, yet small enough to know each other’s names. Nationally, we are affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. We offer varied programs and social activities for youth and adults; we continue to explore new areas for growth as an outstanding congregation. We welcome newcomers to join us at our High Holy Day, Holiday and Shabbat Services, to attend our social events, to participate in our Holiday observances, Adult Education, Outreach, Social Action and other programs.
