Sprouts Preschool is located in the first floor of the newly renovated Philly Kids Gym building and offers a core curriculum of art music and movement and reading with an additional vibrant program including science math environmental studies field trips and more!

The curriculum will at all times have an underlying theme and we will use that theme as a guide for age appropriate learning activities at all times. We strongly believe in the value of the arts and music in the development of young children and will ensure that there are music art and reading classes every day. The current theme is All About My World. Initially the preschoolers will learn about themselves and their families including their pets then about their bodies the way they feel. As we progress through the curriculum we will investigate our world and the people and things within it. At each stage there are specific learning objectives and projects designed to allow the children to reach those objectives. We are looking to challenge ourselves with knowledge and investigate the things that we dont know about. On this journey we will subtly add basic learning techniques so that our children will learn consciously and subconsciously.

Throughout the year we are planning to conduct at least 18 field trips off site to gardens museums theaters musical events nature reserves so that our little sprouts can investigate their world and then bring back ideas to share and develop in the classroom. These trips will generally be geared to the older (potty-trained) children however the smaller sprouts will be able to participate in some age appropriate trips.

The preschool has full use of the Gym facilities and will benefit from the Gyms collaboration with the art and music community with artists and teachers from the Gym classes also dropping in to the preschool to share their knowledge and talent. In addition to this valuable resource of knowledge the preschoolers will benefit from fitness programs offered and large areas of multi-purpose space which can be readily converted into any configuration required to achieve our learning objectives. This is especially valuable in the winter as if we are unable to visit the local playground then there is a ready made space for the children to let off steam within our facility.

Our preschool program is available to all children from 18 months through kindergarten. We have a commitment to the highest standards of early learning instilling a sense of pride in ourselves respecting others and our environment. Your children will enjoy a clean and loving learning environment at all times where they will be encouraged by our staff to explore their surroundings in the fullest way possible. We are excited to have the opportunity to explore their world with them.
