Preschool in Phoenix, AZ 85027
School days are rewarding experiences for students and their families in this program. We apply the highest standards and utilize proven methods to prepare children for school.
The Early Learning Center serves children with and without disabilities from six weeks to five years of age. Our inclusive setting offers developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for all children. Our preschool program utilizes the Creative Curriculum, a nationally recognized curriculum that incorporates Arizonas Early Childhood Education Standards. Our Early Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). To Learn more about NAEYC, please watch the video below.
The unique feature of the center is the inclusion of children with and without special needs. The mission of the center is to ensure that each child develops at his or her individual pace honoring the abilities of each child.
One of the benefits for the children with disabilities attending the Early Learning Center is that in many cases, their therapists and other members of their support services team are also located on site. Additionally, the children with special needs have the opportunity to interact with typically developing children and often make gains in their development faster by watching and learning from their peers.
Typically-developing children have taken on role-modeling behavior and are mentoring their friends with special needs. Already they are exhibiting empathetic leadership skills, ensuring among themselves that all of their classmates are included in activities and having a good time. This dynamic is changing attitudes towards children with disabilities and will have long-term benefits for not only the children in the center, but ultimately for the community as well.
