A co-op preschool provides an opportunity for parents to actively participate in the classroom with their children. Under the supervision of a qualified teacher the children can move toward independence in their early educational experience. Parents act as teacher’s aides maintain the classroom and assist in the preparation of daily materials and activities.
Parent participation outside the classroom is also essential to the success of a co-op preschool. Parents may be elected on the CHUM Co-op Preschool Board of Directors attend field trips and occasionally be asked to volunteer time and materials for a special activity or project. As a parent your involvement is vital to the successful operation of the preschool.
