Our Preschool is designed with a strong developmentally appropriate early academic curriculum based on children’s need to explore balanced with their need for structure. Teachers see their role as guides providing a secure nurturing environment that fosters social intellectual physical and creative growth through a variety of experiences.
We recognize and enjoy each child’s individuality learning style social development and family culture. We welcome international and racially diverse families. Children are encouraged to explore their world making discoveries and solving problems along the way. Activities are based on thematic units which are initiated by both teachers and students. Dramatic play creative arts literature math and science are regular components of class activities for all ages. Our curriculum also includes Spanish instruction (four days a week) music (twice a week) physical education (twice a week) and a story time with our librarian (once a week). These classes are all taught by faculty specialists. All entering students must be potty trained.
