We believe that children learn through play and the active manipulation of materials in their environment. Therefore, we structure the daily routine to provide a balance of both teacher and child directed activities. All children are unique individuals, and as such will grow and learn at their own pace. We believe that positive knowledge, skills and dispositions are best learned when childeren are encouraged to learn more about topics that are of interest to them. We believe that early childhood classrooms should be sensitive to these individual differences, and provide all children with a variety of experiences.
We believe that self-esteem is a critical ingredient in the entire education process and grows naturally out of pride that comes from individual and group accomplishments. We structure our environment and program to provide children with successful accomplishments, while still being challenged.
We here at Learning Ladder thrive on creating a parent/teacher partnership. We feel that it is very important to have the partnership so that we can help the children strive and feel supportive in both home and school.
