Timberlake Christian Preschool

Timberlake Christian Preschool (TCP) provides an interactive environment where children develop skills through a variety of carefully planned learning activities and opportunities for exploration. Nurturing, knowledgeable Christian teachers use several high quality curriculum resources targeted at developing strengths in language and literacy, introductory math, Bible knowledge, discovery in science, music and movement, handwriting and art. Students in the Preschool and Pre-K classes also participate in monthly chapel, bi-monthly soccer lessons, and weekly Spanish lessons.

Each classroom has one Lead Teacher and one Assistant Teacher. At full capacity, the Early Preschool classroom (2.5-3.5 year olds, many potty-training) has 12 students. Preschool (3 years old by August 31st and potty-trained) and Pre-Kindergarten classrooms have 16 students. Staff members are CPR/First Aid certified, have passed a national background check and all Lead Teachers are enrolled in continuing education through the WA State STARS/MERIT program.

• The school day begins at 9:00 a.m. (Drop off between 8:50-9:00).

• Half-day students (8:50-11:50 a.m.) do not eat lunch at school.

• Pick up time for full-day students is 2:50-3:00 p.m. Children in the full-day program have lunch at preschool. All full-day Early Preschool students and/or any children who normally nap at home will nap after lunch, from 12:45-2:30. Older students have quiet time for 20 minutes before afternoon lessons.

• Optional extended care is available before and after school hours, 7:30-9:00 a.m. and 3:00-5:00 p.m. for toilet-trained children ages 3-5 years. Extended care is a long-term commitment and not set up for occasional visits, unless we have advanced notice and keep within proper student-teacher ratio.
