At Redwood Montessori Academy, our mission is to provide a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Our classrooms provide a wide range of hands-on experiences. Our teachers nurture each child’s unique abilities through individual attention and guidance. We inspire every child’s natural desire to explore, to discover, and to learn; we encourage curiosity, creativity, and imagination; and we promote critical thinking, independence, and self-reliance. Our goal is to endow each child with personal, social, and academic skills that will support a lifetime of joyful learning and self-fulfillment.

Our curriculum follows the philosophy and techniques of the Montessori method of education. This is a time-tested, proven curriculum with unique materials designed for eager minds. Lessons begin with basic activities and progress over time to advanced work. The lessons and materials are carefully designed for the age, ability, and interest of the child. Each child is treated as an individual and allowed to grow at his or her pace.

Our students learn to read and write at an early age. They cultivate a thorough understanding of math concepts. They learn about the world and its inhabitants and explore science and nature. They master the ability to take care of themselves and their environment, and learn valuable social skills. Our students also develop inner discipline, self-confidence, respect for each other, and an appreciation for the world around them.

Our classes are mixed-age groups, based on the unique development stages of children. Younger children enjoy the benefits of having older children as mentors and role models, while the older children gain additional confidence and maturity by helping their younger classmates.
