Joyful school experience
For nearly 50 years, RCNS has offered a nonsectarian, cooperative preschool community in which teachers and parents work together to create an exciting and nurturing first-school experience. We provide families of preschool-age children positive, developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Each child grows to new self-understanding and sense of community, of positive choices and the joy of learning individually and as part of a group. Parents together broaden our resources and understanding of the young child, and our own important role in our child’s education in these early years.
RCNS is a non-profit institution. RCNS does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, religion, sex, national or ethnic origin.

RCNS is a cooperative preschool in which parents, teachers and children participate together in an exciting and nurturing first-school experience. We believe that children learn best through play, and that their school day should be full of joyful opportunities for positive social, emotional and academic development. We believe that parents are children’s first, best teachers, and that welcoming families – mothers, fathers and other adults who are important to the child- into the classroom and into all aspects of the school is good for children, and forms habits that predict educational success for years to come. The educational goal of the school is to provide each child with developmentally appropriate learning experiences through which he or she can grow at his or her own rate to a new maturity and sense of self-worth and self-direction. Our purpose is to help children develop an interest and joy in learning about themselves, others and the world around them.
