ABC Preschool focuses mainly on the Japanese language and culture, with some additional instruction in the English language and various cultures of the world. In addition to Japanese calendar and its cultural background, our children learn American holidays and various other cultures as well. We strongly believe that this first step in a child’s education is very important and can affect the tenor of their future life. Therefore, we emphasize the children’s socialization, cooperation and participation in group activities, for their spiritual, intellectual and physical growth. “Play Time” is an important element in early education, for it is during such activities that children learn how to deal with their emotions and respect others, thus building a good foundation for their prime educational years. 1) To provide earlier education in an international environment with the emphasis on early acquisition of a second language. 2) To assist children of Japanese-speaking homes to make a smoother transition to public school kindergarten. 3) To allow Japanese families who would return to Japan make an easier transition from American to Japanese school.
