Testimonials
St. Thomas' Preschool is full of talented, experienced early childhood educators who are committed to their students' religious, academic, and social development. In most cases, the educators are parents themselves, so they approach their work in a professional capacity with a personal sensibility. The transformation I have seen in my child from the time she began, when she was 2 and 9 months, until now, as she is almost 5, is truly outstanding. She simply loves going to school. She recognizes letters and numbers. She can write her name. She loves being read to, and is well on her way to being able to read on her own. She understands the difference between large and small numbers. On another level, she understands what it means to take a turn, to share, and to be able to say sorry when she has done something wrong. She is truly learning to participate inside the classroom alongside her peers. Prior to COVID-19, she was able to enjoy a curriculum that included STEM, Music, Spanish, Mandarin, and Soccer classes. At the onset of shelter-in-place related to COVID-19 in March, the school first provided distance learning online. In September, they moved to in person learning after having revamped classrooms so that children have space to physically distance. Students and teachers are required to wear masks. There are also regimented temperature checks and other protocol to take every possible step so that the school environment is safe. I feel extremely fortunate that my child began her education here. I feel even more fortunate that my child has the opportunity to continue her education at the "big school" which runs from Kindergarten to 8th grade. My husband and I could have left San Francisco some time ago to pursue jobs elsewhere, but we have decided to stay here in San Francisco because of this school.
