Rice State Preschool

Rice Elementary School is located in the
central region of Santa Maria and serves
students in grades kindergarten through
six following a traditional calendar. at the
beginning of the 2007-08 school year, 783
students were enrolled, including 8% in
special education, 8.6% identified for
migrant education services, 45%
qualifying for English Language Learner
support, and 82% qualifying for free or
reduced price lunch. Rice Elementary
School achieved a 2008 Academic
Performance Index (API) score of 767 and
met all 2008 Adequate Yearly Progress
criteria.
