LSSU Child Development Center

PRESCHOOL – SCHOOL AGE -
The Lake Superior State University Child Development Center’s primary mission is divided into three components:

The first component is to serve as a safe nurturing and diverse educational environment meeting the individual needs of young children and offering support for their families.

The second component is to provide early childhood students with an on-site laboratory in which they learn to balance theory and application by extending the content of their classroom work with hands-on experiences in an early childhood setting. The Center serves as a positive basis of comparison for the early childhood students when they begin their professional careers.

The third component is to offer support to faculty staff and students in their effort to work or attend classes at LSSU. The Center also offers support to the parents in the Sault Area community who seek high quality care and education for their children thus forming an important bridge between the University and the Community.
