Rainbow Preschool is a ministry of Oakhurst United
Methodist Church and is licensed by the Pinellas
County License Board. Rainbow was established in
1983 and operates as an Early Childhood Center. All
of our teachers are professionals who meet or exceed
all standards and requirements established by the
Pinellas County Licensing Board.
We believe that the early years are vitally important to
a childs development. It is our goal to implant a deep
love for learning in children that will remain with them
always. Children have a natural curiosity and desire to
learn. We will nurture these qualities by providing
opportunities to learn.
Our program is planned to meet the spiritual social
physical and intellectual needs of children. Much time
and effort research and experience have all helped to
develop a curriculum that meets these needs. A
qualified loving staff small classes and carefully
chosen materials all help to insure that your childs
experience at Rainbow will be special.
Our program considers individual differences but also
helps each child to be a part of a group situation and to
learn to accept respect be considerate of and work
cooperatively with others. Daily planned activities help
to promote the development of small and large motor
skills listening and language skills and the ability to
problem solve. Christian values are integrated into the
program and Christian differences are considered in
our religious planning.
Prayer is part of the childrens daily experience. Bible
lessons; using favorite age appropriate Bible stories
are taught as part of a monthly theme. We strive to
help the child grow in their knowledge and general
understanding of the Bible. We hope the children will
come to know Jesus that He is our friend and that we
want to be like Him.
The break from home to preschool should be a
wonderful experience. Preschool marks the beginning
of a childs first school years. Rainbow Preschool will
fill them with many happy memories and a solid
foundation for future growth.
