Village Green is a curriculum-based school that offers Preschool to children ages 2 through Kindergarten and Childcare/After School Care to children ages 2 through the end of elementary school. We accept children on a nondiscriminatory basis, without regard to sex, race, color, religion or national origin.
As children progress through the Village Green programs, they receive developmentally appropriate instruction from well-qualified and dedicated teachers. Our Preschool and Kindergarten programs utilize the Core Knowledge curriculum developed by E.D. Hirsch. We embrace the whole child: physically, emotionally and intellectually. Children gain a solid foundation of skills on which their future education will be built. They achieve a thirst for learning that sets them on their way to becoming life long learners.
At all ages, much of the learning at Village Green is attained through discovery and play. Our large outdoor spaces and playgrounds provide a place to have fun and release energy, but also an outdoor classroom in which our students learn gross motor skills and science concepts. Children also discover an appreciation for music and art from our specialists in these areas, and grow to be responsible citizens through our Character Connection program.
In both our Preschool programs, and our Childcare/ After School programs, the children are continually engaged in activities that are purposefully planned by their teachers. Lesson plans, which include the outdoor time and free play time, are reviewed and approved by the school administration. This approval process ensures children with varying interests are presented with appealing enrichment activities.
At Village Green, we continually assess all of our programs to ensure that we are implementing best practices and that our activities are developmentally appropriate and sound.
