OVCDC opened in September 1969 with one director/teacher/cook
and three children using one room. The center has continually grown
and at the present time we have a center director, business manager,
program manager, a cook and over a dozen staff. We are now licensed
for 75 children between the ages of 4 weeks to 12 years.
OVCDC is a ministry of Olympic View Friends Church ,
which names the director and board to oversee the operation of the
daycare. The board is made up of church members, church pastor, and
daycare director.
Olympic View Friends Church is Part of the Northwest yearly meeting
of Friends Churches. We welcome anyone who wishes to be a part of
our church family. The church offers programs for all ages. Please
contact the church office for more information regarding any

Our program encourages compassion and love in a Christian environment that enables children to learn and grow at their own pace. We are committed to the happy and healthy development of our future generation and practice the Love and Logic approach in our center. Love allows children to grow through their mistakes; Logic allows them to live with the consequences of their choices. Love and logic is a way to take control and teach children to be responsible and think for themselves and be prepared for the real world!
OVCDC uses a Christian based curriculum in the daily teachings of children. Our mission is to provide opportunities for children to develop their skills:
SPIRITUAL: Lovingly share with your child God’s saving word so that he or she
experiences God’s love in Jesus Christ and responds in faith and love.
EMOTIONAL: Encourage, support and help your child grow in positive self-awareness; living confidently as God’s child.
SOCIAL: Provide an environment in which your child understands and strengthens
relationships and comes to know God.
PHYSICAL: Plan activities in which children regard their body as a gift of God and grow in perceptual motor skills and bodily development.
INTELLECTUAL: Involve your child in appropriate experiences to enhance discovery, communication, conceptualization and creativity.
OVCDC is a childcare environment, and as such our goal is to help inspire, challenge and encourage children to be self sufficient, strong, positive Christian individuals by nurturing them and providing positive Christian role models.
Knowing that family is the primary resource and support to a childs development,
OVCDC supports each family enrolled. OVCDC provides Christian experiences in a non-imposing manner by helping each child to accept the differences and similarities in each other. Through nurturing each childs growth, fostering their thinking, and cultivating their abilities with respect, we hope to help children in our care achieve their fullest potential.
OVCDC strives to provide a positive, fun, and nurturing childcare experience for your child. Early academics are provided for the children as an opportunity, not as a requirement.
