Grace United Learning Center of Taneytown

Grace United Learning Center is dedicated to promoting and providing high quality, affordable care for children of working parents regardless of race, creed, religion or income, and to assure the physical, emotional, educational and developmental nurturing of the children in our care. We are a non-faith based center where the staff delivers excellent comprehensive full-day and preschool year round programs without regard to developmental or socioeconomic challenges. Center hours are 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday.

The Center serves children ages 2 through 8 years, with a before and after school program during the school year. It is licensed to serve up to 30 students at any one time, but provides care for more than 30 children at various times over the course of any week. Bus transportation is available for Taneytown Elementary School and Mother Seton school students. Our teachers are credentialed and we use the Maryland Model for School Readiness in addition to the Creative Curriculum to prepare the children for kindergarten.

The Learning Center accepts participants in the Purchase of Care/Child Care Subsidy Program. The students are served breakfast, a morning snack, a hot lunch and an afternoon snack. The daily hot lunch is prepared by the Country Kitchen staff and is transported to the Center by a team of volunteers from the church congregation. We plan a field trip to the Maryland Zoo each June as well as several other trips throughout the year; parents are encouraged to join us on these outings. The Learning Center Support Committee welcomes the input, participation, and support of all Grace Church members interested in furthering the ministry of the Learning Center. The Center has provided an opportunity for community youth to perform community service hours required for high school graduation.
