The Early Childhood Programs in the district utilize a combination of teacher-directed and child-directed activities and a variety of interest centers to encourage children to explore and learn in an active hands-on way. Activities are planned to promote:
Language development Beginning literacy and numeracy skills Problem solving and logical thinking Gross and fine motor development Creative expressionChildren are encouraged to develop independence and self-confidence, social skills and a love of learning. Guidelines for district preschool teachers come from Creative Curriculum, the state Early Learning Standards, and Harcourt materials for literacy and math.
TD3 has one classroom used for a half-day Kindergarten program. The program teacher must follow all state standards required of kindergarten. Currently, the program is housed at Arredondo Elementary School.
