Educational Philosophy: We recognize that each child is unique and that they all learn at different rates and in different ways. At Westtown Children’s Academy we provide a teacher initiated diverse age-appropriate curriculum that is based on hands-on exploration by each child.
We create an environment that provides a flexible schedule based on the children’s needs. Our well-rounded curriculum emphasizes art language math music and science and promotes diversity and cultural awareness resulting in a well-rounded child.
Through teacher facilitated play as well as child-directed play opportunities your children will learn to make decisions based on their interests. Our classes participate in experiential activities with unlimited exploration.
Pre-K Curriculum: Our Kindergarten and Pre-K Classes are taught using comprehensive curriculums to help our children grasp reading writing and Math. For math we use the Everyday Mathematics Curriculum for writing we use Handwriting without Tears and for Reading we use Trophies by Harcourt publishers. Each of these is recognized nationally and becoming more widely used in the school districts.
Enrichment Programs: At Westtown Children’s Academy we believe that every child should be able to participate in every activity offered through the school. That is why we include our enrichment programs as part of our curriculum and at no additional charge. Jitterbugs Music and Movement is provided every 2nd and 4th Tuesday Impact Sports joins us every 1st and 3rd monday ATA Karate teaches our Pre-K the 2nd Wednesday and Computer Tots come the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. With so many enrichment programs in addition to our fun filled curriculum your child is constantly being stimulated.
