The Penta School

The mission of The Penta School is to bring a quality Montessori education to the children of West Milford and the surrounding area’s including Hewitt, Oakridge and Jefferson NJ, along with Greenwood Lake and Warwick NY. Using traditional Montessori materials and a well prepared environment we aim to encourage our students to live, learn and develop independently their natural curiosities and a lifelong love and respect for learning.

The Penta School first opened its doors in 1997 as the Totowa Montessori School. We had the honor of being known as one of the smallest, registered, open to the public Montessori schools in the world according to the American Montessori Society during our ten years of operation in Totowa. Due to zoning issues that prevented us from being able to expand our facility we began a search for a new location. Three years of visiting over 100 properties throughout New Jersey we found our new home in West Milford NJ.
