Because a child’s healthy development is dependent upon his/her sense of security, self-worth and belonging, positive, responsive and excellent care provided in a safe and nurturing environment form the foundation of our educational philosophy.
In addition, we know that children develop and learn most effectively through hands-on play and exploration. By providing an abundance of hands-on activities and access to a variety of toys and materials, Old Hills programs encourage healthy development of learning skills as well as many opportunities for kids to be kids.
Using the Creative Curriculum for Preschool and the Creative Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers as published by Teaching Strategies, Inc., our progressive learning programs are based on the early childhood development theories of Piaget,Maslow, Erikson, Smilansky, Vygotsky and Gardner. This hands-on learning philosophy provides our children with endless opportunities to develop strong self-esteem and the fundamental learning skills required to achieve the kindergarten readiness needed for a successful and happy transition into public or private schools.
Finally, we believe that a childs well being is directly affected by the happiness of his/her family. Therefore, we strive to provide the quality service, programs and schedules that meet the needs of busy families.
