Westport - Weston Cooperative Nursery School

Founded in 1955, the Co-op offers a progressive, quality early education experience that views the young childs learning as a journey rather than a destination. The preschools mission is influenced by the Bank Street approach through its program leadership. This approach recognizes that children learn best when they are actively engaged with materials, ideas and with people. The Co-op experience encourages children to be curious, to ask questions, to explore all possibilities and to love learning. The preschools approach begins with sound developmental principles, understanding that children do not all learn in the same way or at the same pace. Co-op teachers aim for clear educational objectives and encourage children to engage fully in the process of discovery and of creating understanding.
