The mission of the Excellent Start Learning Center is to provide a loving, safe, affordable, high quality educational environment benefiting the child, the parents, the staff and the community. We are dedicated to providing children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old a emotionally secure and physically safe atmosphere in a home-away-from-home environment while supplying stimulating early care and education experiences that meets the intellectual, moral, social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of each child. The Excellent Start staff is fully committed to the families we serve providing our utmost support and encouragement.

Our curriculum has been adapted from “The Creative Curriculum.” It operates on the belief that the child learns best by doing. It encourages children to learn and explore through use of their senses, such as, touching, tasting, smelling, and listening.
We use materials such as blocks to help the children learn about size, shape, and color. After learning these basic concepts, we teach the children words and numbers, which are more abstract. The curriculum’s goal is to teach children how to learn, giving them a valuable tool for success in their later years as well. This curriculum encourages children to be independent, self-confident, and inquisitive individuals.
