Lauren is a dynamic violinist, violist, and music educator in the DMV. She has performed with ensembles including American Institute of Musical Studies Festival Orchestra, Schenectady Symphony Orchestra, Charleston Symphony, Delaware Symphony, and the Maryland Lyric Opera, and she has worked with artists such as Yo Yo Ma, Andrea Bocelli, Linda Watson, Bobby Vinton, and Steve Martin.
Her award-winning students have enjoyed performances around the United States and China. As both violinist and violist, Lauren has coached students of PYO’s Prysm Strings (formerly, PRYSM and PRYSM Young Artists), American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra, and Stringendo of the Hudson Valley. She currently conducts the Young Artist Orchestra of the DC Youth Orchestra Program.
Lauren has a long and loving history with Suzuki’s Talent Education. She made her first Carnegie Hall debut as a Twinkler in a play-in bigger than she could’ve imagined! This concert celebrated the 20th anniversary of The School for Strings (Dr. Suzuki was 93!). Lauren attended the Ithaca Suzuki Institute during elementary school and performed May Song as a soloist with the faculty orchestra. The Suzuki repertoire and emphasis on ear training has always guided her teaching. Her students have participated in their All-State Orchestras, received recognition through concerto competitions, and have made notable contributions to the field of music at conservatories and in their careers.
