I am a professional director, producer, and teaching artist. I graduated from Ithaca College with a BFA in Acting. In the last five years, I have taught acting, drama, creative writing, comedy writing and improv to thousands of students of all ages in the greater NYC area. I’ve brought my fun-focused approach to creative instruction to elementary, middle and high schools, to colleges, to professional comedy theaters, to conservatory programs, and through private one-on0one instruction.

When not teaching, I serve as one of the co-Artistic Directors at The Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT), one of NYC’s largest comedy theaters. I create dozens of shows a year at The PIT, in addition to teaching on their comedy writing faculty. As an indie director and producer, I have created commercials for such clients as Scholastic Education and the Congressional campaign of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and have created numerous digital web series and short films. I consistently work with actors and comedy ensembles as a director, to create unique and original shows that serve their unique voices.

Matt has partnered with such organizations as The Story Pirates and Wingspan Arts to provide arts instruction for students in low-income public schools.

Matt believes that creative expression should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their age or experience level. He’s excited to work with you!
