Statistics, Biology, MATLAB and More
Hello,
I offer one-on-one and group tutoring in statistics, biology, and MATLAB coding.
I’m a graduate of the UC Berkeley psychology program and a current graduate student in neuroscience at UC Davis. When I was an undergraduate, I worked at the Student Learning Center as a tutor and study group leader in statistics, research design and data analysis and I’ve been a contractor for multiple tutoring agencies around the Bay Area. Testimonials
David B. from Oakland, CA I came to Joshua with a specific programming question. Given that I knew next to nothing about the language I was working in, Joshua showed me both a specific solution to my problem as well as a more general heuristic for answering future questions. He was friendly, patient, and willing to listen to my concerns throughout - an ideal tutor. Highest recommendations!
Kim B. from Alameda, CA I can't say enough good things about Josh! I have been meeting with him once a week since March and have been very pleased with my progress. My confidence about my ability to do statistics had been very low, but that is changing, especially since I recently got an A in a course that I thought would be too hard for me. I attribute my success to Josh's perceptive style of teaching. He is easygoing, patient, supportive, and extremely knowledgeable about biostatistics. Also, when possible he draws his examples from real life, which is helpful when I am feeling confused about an abstraction. Josh is an expert in his field. He uses statistics every day in his job and is able to speak about the overall usefulness of statistics to understand the world and solve real problems. He is also able to focus very closely on the minutiae of statistics, such as correcting syntax errors I made when trying to program in R for the first time. Most importantly, he really loves his work, and his passion for statistics is contagious. You won't go wrong with Josh.
