I have had extensive jazz a rock studies from attending The Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, to becoming George Russell’s teaching assistant at The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston before he retired. I learned from a true master of jazz and contemporary music regarding composition, improvisation, theory and teaching students.

Description: I studied privately with Frank Gambale, who formalized the single line “sweep technique” on guitar. While in L.A. I also studied with Ed Mann, longtime Frank Zappa pecussionist and teacher at Cal. Arts. In Boston ’84 thru ’07, I studied privately and became an assistant to George Russell on the revision of his 1953 copyrighted and published book “The Lydian Chromatic Concept Of Tonal Organization” released in 2001. My projects included musical transcription and analysis (based on the “Lydian Concept”), editing, making corrections and proofreading. I also was a Teacher Assistant on this subject at The New England Conservatory of Music under George Russell"s direction.
