I am a professional composer and vocalist, as well as a private piano instructor with a Bachelors in Music Composition and Music Technology Minor from George Mason University. I’m currently pursuing a Masters in Music Composition from Longy School of Music. In all my lessons, I work with students of all ages and focus on building a strong foundation.

I have played piano for several years, playing for years in the church. I specialize in beginner and intermediate piano lessons and work hard to instill a strong foundation in music theory, sight-reading, and technique across all my students so that they can be successful after completing studying with me. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.

Vocal students can expect to gain a technical foundation with an emphasis on breathing and vocal placement. I studied vocal pedagogy and classical voice with Debby Wenner and jazz voice with Dr. Darden Purcell, and believe that a strong technique is the key to unlocking any vocal style. I will work with each student to develop their unique voice and timbre to their best potential.

As a composer, my choral works have been performed both nationally and internationally. I also compose chamber works and vocal works. I love to mentor students who want to get their start as composers. With each student, I like to help them realize their inner voices by connecting them to the style of their choice (classical, contemporary, jazz to name a few).
