I have volunteered as a tutor consistently since 2001, with stints at Bolton Elementary School in Winston-Salem, Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church After-School program (now independent and called the Freedom School) in Charlotte, and Chantilly Montessori Elementary School in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg School system, where I still volunteer.
