Hey, I’m Brianna (: I’ve recently graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelors of Arts and Music in Vocal Performance. I started teaching lessons my freshman year of college for the Salvation Army where I taught beginner/intermediate voice and beginner piano and guitar. There my students ranged from age 5-75, several of which having special needs.
I’ve studied voice for 13 years and sing the majority of music genres and styles, but I specialize in Jazz/Contemporary music. So if you’re looking to scat and learn some killer improvisational techniques, I’m the teacher for you! Though I am knowledgeable in Broadway, Pop, Country, R&B, Blues, Rock, Hip-Hop/Rap, and foreign languages using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA).
Your lessons will be personalized to your needs as a vocalist. You’ll learn warm-up and cool down methods as well as ways to incorporate the 6 voice qualities (and variations of these) as mechanisms for voice control. I am a strong believer that anyone can sing— you just have to be open to the experience, vulnerable within the art form, and trust the process.
I would be honored to join you on this journey!
