Jacob started his studies on horn in 1996, at the age of 9. An active freelance horn player and teacher in the Chicago area, Jacob earned a bachelor?s degree in music performance from SUNY Purchase where he studied with Ann Ellsworth and Peter Reit. After finishing his bachelors he studied with Greg Flint at Roosevelt University while pursuing a masters degree in orchestral studies.
