Hello, my name is Michael! I have been playing guitar since I was 10-years old. Aside from being a teacher, performer, and songwriter, I would define myself as a “guitar nerd” because I love every aspect of playing. I still practice every day and have an insatiable hunger for new opportunities to play and learn. I have an encyclopedic knowledge of metal, rock, blues, country, and guitar. In my spare time, I enjoy writing music and playing more guitar.
I graduated from Berklee in 2017, where I received the Jimi Hendrix Award. This is given to the best guitar player in the school. I was the first rock/metal guitar player to do so! I received instruction from world-class teachers such as Joe Stump and Norm Zocher.
Besides teaching, I have a passion for songwriting and performance; while in Boston, I played and recorded with the melodic metal band Black Trip. With Black Trip, I was fortunate enough to open up for such bands as Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Rhapsody of Fire, and Doro. Here in Los Angeles, I am currently teaching, writing music, and playing with various bands. I recently professionally recorded my band’s debut album, and it will be available in early 2020.
