As a child my father used to tell me a wonderful fairy tale by the ancient Greek thinker Fedro. This fairy tale spoke of the importance of culture, and how the wisest of creatures draw strength and wisdom from being cultured. I have always been guided in my studies to seek an understanding of different cultures, especially from the classical world.
