My daughter doesn't need a tutor, I do! We are opposites in many ways, she's an extrovert, I'm an introvert, she's blonde, I'm dyed brown/grey, and the list goes on. Our learning styles differ too which has made it so hard for me to relate to her. Nancy gave me a lesson on how she learns kinesthetically - the opposite of me. We tried some of Nancy's techniques already and my daughter was sounding out words and was reading! It worked that fast! I'm actually looking forward to homework next week and making it fun/family/learning time and not scream/cry time! When I told my daughter why we met with Nancy, "so that we don't cry over homework" my daughter hugged me, that was the best part. As my daughter grows, I will be calling on Nancy for advice on how to assist her. Sometimes it is not the child who needs the tutor, it is the parent!
