As a professional musician and cello teacher for over two decades it is a wonderful feeling to know that you helped to provide some moments of joy to your audience after a concert performance. By teaching the art of music to students of various ages and backgrounds a musician is able to make sure others will be able to enjoy the gift of music for many years to come.

Learning to play a cello, like any instrument not only develops the whole brain but also gives you tools and methods to accomplish a complicated tasks in many other disciplines. For example, much of my teaching is based on a building block technique as well as teaching students how to practice efficiently. Doing so it makes playing and working on the cello much more enjoyable. As some of my former students have gone on to become professional musicians themselves, others have gone on to pursue careers in law, medicine and engineering. I am constantly amazed of the number of former students who still keep playing through adulthood.

My knowledge as a school orchestra director and a professional cellist also helps me and my students when preparing for city, state and regional youth orchestra auditions as well as solo and ensemble competitions.
