The best part is she knows how to explain the issues that come up in the Spanish language. In addition, she really knows how to teach and identify the students strengths and weaknesses and works from there.

Every lesson is filled with vocabulary, grammar and most importantly conversation in Spanish. She has proven that the only real way to learn a language is to use it and practice speaking it. Also, she is a native speaking Spanish tutor which is a great advantage she possesses. This allows her to teach the correct accent and pronunciation of words. She is able to share information about Spanish culture and customs as well. Lessons are proficient and filled with substance. In my opinion, she is an excellent tutor through means of written text and the spoken word. She has a very amiable personality which makes each lesson enjoyable and productive!

We established topics, moving along with each lesson and reviewing the previous one. Eventually they tied all together. I can now speak in complete sentences and converse in basic Spanish. During one session, I was very tired and had trouble remembering my own name; nevertheless, I still profited from the lesson because of Isabel's "scaffolding." Isabel is fun to study with because she is a well rounded person. She?s familiar with all the major writers in Spanish and South American literature from Bola?o to Vargas Llosa, knows film, geography, and history. Today we looked at a collection of photographs by Spanish photographer, Cristina Garc?a Rodero?a member of The Magnum Cooperative, from her book "Espa?a Oculta". Isabel was able to identify the regions, and at times the cities where the photographs were taken. My only complaint is that our two hour sessions pass by so quickly.
