She has a Ph.D. in Hydrology form UCLA, and recently moved to Maryland to work at NASA, i.e. she's one smart lady! Hydrology courses tend to vary from professor to professor and college to college, but Manuela has a strong understanding of the fundamental hydrologic concepts, such as reservoir and channel routing, hydrograph and hyetograph analysis and synthesis, and the commonly used hydrologic equations. After reviewing my class notes, homework, and exams, she was able to think of challenging questions that were still based on the course's material, but had little twists that could reveal whether or not I truly understood the key hydrologic concepts asked in the question. Bottom line, work with Manuela if you're struggling in a surface water hydrology or water resource engineering class.
