The initial email I received proposed an organized approach that I later discovered, helped keep me grounded, as I have the tendency to give in to distractions. He wrote, and I quote, "An effective approach to help you prepare would be (in this order) to help you remember and understand key terms and processes, followed by applying those terms and processes, and analyzing them." After practicing Dr. R.'s methods I feel comfortable, applying them to other classes, handling a substantial workload, and I feel adequate to my peers.

That said, he is, by all appearances, a more than competent tutor who seems to thoroughly understand the material. He answered my questions with a confidence in his mastery of the subject matter that seems to imply that he's seen it all before. While I can only tentatively recommend him, I have little doubt that I'm much better off for having met with him for the 2 hours that I did.
