Testimonials
Gary S. from Crosby, TX Enjoyed my first lesson with Nichols. We covered a lot of ground and he cleared up a lot of problems I was working on. A great job of sticking with one subject and going through all the variations. I now understand that section well and we are moving on to more. Will use this tutor for remainder of my time to address my test.
Sue Anne S. from Huffman, TX Mr. N. is always on time, always calls ahead. The classes have been so easy to schedule. He is an excellent tutor! He is able to teach math in a way that my daughter is able to understand. He is patient and thorough. After paying a ton of money for Sylvan Learning Center's SAT prep class and being completely disappointed after my daughter's first test, we are now optimistic that she will do better on the math section thanks to Mr. N.
Christy M. from Kingwood, TX I would highly recommend this tutor. He is very professional, kind, and was a big help. He wasted no time, and with his help, my daughter was able to raise her SAT math score 90 points. He gave very helpful testing tips and strategies, but he was also able to help her through some problem spots she had as she was preparing to take the test. I would definitely use him again.
Denise W. from Spring, TX Having had the initial meeting with Mr N, I was able to review the requirements and understand the problems. Very easy to understand and extremely knowledgeable on the subject.
Shelly H. from Huffman, TX Mr. N. is very kind, patient and knowledgeable. Not only does he make his student feel comfortable but the parents as well. He does not mind conferencing with us before or after his tutoring session. I would highly recommend Mr. N. We have been very pleased.
Teresa B. from Spring, TX 2/10/14 Mr. N. is a very good tutor. He is always on time and he spends a lot of time with my son reviewing his Calculus. He went over inverse and composition functions, and derivatives of e^x. They also discussed strategies for the upcoming AP test. He suggested a good AP AB Calculus book for review for test. We will purchase it. Appreciate the time and efforts and great advice of Mr. N. 1/27/14 It was good seeing Mr. N. since lessons have been sporadic during he holidays. Mr. N. worked with Jon on integrals: estimating them using the trapezoid, and midpoint rules; and evaluating them using substitution. They also looked at typical AP test problems involving integrals. Always wonderful to have Mr. N. as a tutor. Mr. N. was very professional. He worked with my son on finding critical values, maxima, minima ("extrema"), increasing, decreasing functions related to the first derivative, Rolle's theorem, and the mean value theorem. My son will check with his teacher regarding the type of calculator to be used on the AP test. He learned a lot in the first session and felt better prepared for an upcoming test. We were very happy with Mr. N.'s teaching style. Great tutor. My son is doing much better in Calculus and feeling more confident about the class. This is all due to Mr. N. We have had quite a few tutors in different subjects. However, my son said "he's the real deal." Appreciate all of Mr. N.'s efforts and time. A great tutor. 11/27/13 Mr. N. focused on AP test material which was done earlier in the year. However, this was beneficial since he really had difficulty with limits and continuity and implicit differentiation. Additionally, he dealt with future work such as problems on 2 new derivative rules: e^x and lnx. They reviewed chain rule applied to these and several AP test questions regarding these. They also reviewed important pre-calc topics on rules for exponents and logs and common wrong answer traps on the AP test. In sum, we are glad for Mr. N. Even trying to write the review about the topics he covers makes me dizzy. A great tutor. 12/9/13 Mr. N. tutors my son routinely. He is a wonderful tutor. He is a true professional. He is punctual, flexible with his schedule and really can teach what he know so well-Calculus. Some of the information covered during the last session was review of Newton's Method and Optimization. Also my son practiced specific strategies with the graphing calculator that are needed for the AP test-finding zeroes and numerical derivatives. My son has improved in his calculus class and got one of the highest grades in his class on the last test. We are so proud and thank Mr. N. for making this all possible. A great tutor.
Carrie W. from Spring, TX Mr. Nichols has been an absolute blessing! He is patient and knowledgeable. He worked us into an already full schedule to give our son the best chance of success in AP Calculus. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for help with their children.
Jessica A. from Kingwood, TX My daughter's first lesson went very well. Mr. Nichols was very friendly, easy to talk to, and asked a lot of questions to figure out exactly where he needed to begin the tutoring. His explanations were very detailed and thorough. Looking forward to seeing my daughter's progress throughout the summer.
Nelson E. from Humble, TX From the beginning I could tell I had found the perfect tutor for my niece. I had read other people's reviews about Mr. N., and although I was a little doubtful because of my natural skepticism about such postings, I decided to give him a chance anyway. He quickly proved himself to be the very tutor others described: professional, punctual, understanding, patient, experienced....all the qualities you seek in an instructor. His mastery and passion for the material are evident as well. WyzAnt is lucky to have him as one of its representatives.
Joan L. from Baytown, TX He is a great tutor and really helped my son to understand AP calculus. I highly recommend him to anyone needing help in math!
Kiran B. from Houston, TX He tutored my daughter, a pre-8th grader, for a little more than a month. She was trying to credit by exam Algebra 1. Scored a 92%. He is a great teacher. Would definitely use his services again.
Randy R. from Sugar Land, TX Fortunately for us, Mr. Nichols was readily available to assist my daughter on reviewing for her college placement test (math and chemistry). Everything went very well. They were able to go over concepts that she has not used in a while. We will continue until she thinks she is ready. Thanks Mr. Nichols. Update: Daughter passed the calculus placement exam with flying colors (53/56) and was able to score high enough on the chemistry placement exam to bypass intro to chemistry. Thanks again, Mr Nichols.
Isaac L. from Humble, TX After just 2 visits, my son's confidence/ability level has improved greatly. Nichols M's dedication includes being flexible and willing to adapt to my son's changing schedule. Isaac has learned so much in just 2 visits. Nichols M. has proven invaluable to Isaac and his learning experience. I am so glad he is Isaac's tutor. We look forward to future visits.
Tonia G. from Channelview, TX Mr. Nichols is very patient and very knowledgeable. He not only knows his material, he recognizes what students need in order to be successful. He seems to genuinely care about his student's success!
