In the 4th grade, I took to arithmetic like a fish takes to water. In the 5th grade, I began teaching myself algebra.
In high school, I tutored many of my classmates in algebra, trigonometry, physics and chemistry. I understood that not everyone could find these subjects as easy as I did, but I learned how to LISTEN — to listen to them struggling to explain why they found this problem or that concept hard — and to find just the right explanation they needed to achieve understanding.
