Liam H. from Roseland, NJ Jim is a fantastic tutor, and he'll go step by step until an "aha" moment is reached. He reviewed the concepts with me until I understood how to do the problems on my own, and if he noticed I was having difficulty he would take a different approach to the problem. I would highly recommend this tutor.
Joe D. from Boonton, NJ We have been very satisfied with Jim. Our son is in a precalc honors course with a teacher new to the HS this year who is very high end and doesn't use a text book and makes up most of the practice sheets, so none of the standard tutors in the school district were familiar with the teacher's style. Our son had been doing well in the course initially, but then got cocky and stopped doing practice problems and fell behind with grades plummeting. Our son took physics as a freshman and said most of the problems are really physics problems. When Jim came he had no difficulty with any of the problems and even pointed out they were more calculus and physics based than standard pre-calc (so applied math not mere concepts). He brought my son up to speed quickly and my son is back on track. He has an excellent rapport with my son. Jim is also reliable, timely, accessible and definitely has a command of his subject matter (pre-cal, calc, physics). We are fortunate to have found him when we needed him.
Michael S. from Parsippany, NJ Jim is a great tutor. He is very thorough in Mathematics and very honest. He is an able teacher with great skills in teaching. I highly recommend him.
Elyse A. from Wayne, NJ With his Property Brothers-like aplomb and Jimmy Fallon-like wisdom, this trustworthy tutor will transform your teen into a better student. His unique approach to teaching geometry and algebra 2 has already improved my kids' attitudes toward these courses, plus their grades in record time. They look forward to working with Jim A. again very soon.
Allison M. from Verona, NJ Jim is a great tutor who is devoted to spending enough time to ensure the student understands the material. My son enjoyed his patient and enthusiastic teaching style for his Honors Algebra II class. We look forward to continuing next year for Honors Physics and Pre-Calc.
Amanda P. from Wayne, NJ Jim is a great, intelligent tutor. He was very helpful with tutoring me in principles of microeconomics, a subject I did not understand prior to his help. Jim takes his time to make sure you understand the material and is very patient. If you want wise, professional, and efficient help, I highly recommend using Jim as your tutor!
Lia P. from Mountain Lakes, NJ Jim A. is extremely patient, smart, and very helpful. I highly recommend Jim to anyone who may need help with math.
Jack O. from Montville, NJ Jim responds promptly, arrives on time, and immediately gets to work helping your kid understand the subject matter. In our case, the subject is calculus, which is way over my head, so I can only judge the session by my son?s reaction: he was eager to schedule the next lesson. That is huge for me and I credit Jim?s ability to make the learning process fun or at least tolerable. Very happy so far, but test results come later. *Follow Up*: Test results are in and my son passed the calculus AP exam. So with 6 hours of Jim's help, my son gets 4 college credits and I don't have to pay for the course. Impossible to calculate the return on that investment... well maybe Jim can. Thanks again!
Jenny S. from Basking Ridge, NJ I would highly recommend Jim as he is a very bright tutor who has much patience and persistence to ensure the student understands the material. He tutored my son in college level trigonometry. I would highly recommend him for any subject as he is extremely educated in not only the concepts/subject matter, but also how to deliver material in a manner the students can relate. I sat in on a couple of sessions and was extremely impressed.
Elyse C. from Livingston, NJ Jim is an awesome tutor. He is so clear when explaining things and is actually able to teach the material. He is easy to get a hold of and is always willing to help with any questions out of sessions.
M.Gabriela R. from Lincoln Park, NJ Jim is extremely knowledgeable but at the same time very personable. My 11 year old daughter has been struggling with math all along. She was very apprehensive about having a tutor let alone a male tutor. I decided to go with Jim because of his reviews. After the first lesson, she asked me if Jim could come twice a week instead of once. She's had three lessons so far, and she is already grasping concepts that eluded her before. Furthermore, she seems more confident in her ability to learn math. I wholeheartedly recommend Jim. He knows his stuff, is punctual, and has a great rapport with his students.
Trish T. from Morristown, NJ We started using Jim to tutor one of my sons for a Geometry Honors class. After success there, we branched out and he now also tutors in Algebra 2 Honors and Calculus. We may be asking for his help in Chemistry (I have 3 sons). We have seen significant progress in grades since tutoring began. My sons relate very well to Jim. He is very responsible, approachable, flexible, and most importantly, he understands how to get mathematical concepts across to students in an understandable, "building block" way so that the student understands the underlying concepts, not just what he needs to know to pass the next test or quiz. I can't say enough about him, and highly recommend him.
John P. from Caldwell, NJ Jim has helped improve my son's understanding of the concepts, which help him improve significantly. I would strongly recommend him.
