Kind, Patient, and Enthusiastic Tutor for Homeschoolers

I like to help young children who have become discouraged or bored or frustrated, and have no hope of success left, to find joy in learning again, and to stir up enthusiasm for subjects that they’d grown to hate.

Children can easily come to hate a particular subject or learning in general. It could be because they’ve experienced a lot of failure, or because they’ve had a teacher who didn’t care about them, or a teacher who has made them feel nervous or frightened, or because of the problems …

Farzana C. from Wayne, PA English is not my first language. I have a 10 years old son, who need help in English (writing as well as reading). I have Richard as my son's tutor since March. He clicked with my son right away. He is very reliable, patient, and caring. He practiced, drilled, and tailored lessons on my son's learning level. Always on time, well prepared, clearly a tutor that knows what he is doing. He is very good in communicating status information. I highly recommend him for anyone seeking help in English without hesitation. You won't be disappointed!

Kate B. from Malvern, PA Rick did a great job helping my son understand the concepts he was learning in 7th grade math. He gave him helpful hints on how to double check his work and have a deeper understanding of the subject matter. He was very patient and thorough in making sure my son had a good grasp on work.

Maren J. from Berwyn, PA Richard has been working with my 6-year-old son for the last several months. My son has been struggling with math all year, and was starting to get behind his other classmates. We had been trying to help him, but he would get easily frustrated and often had difficulty focusing on his assignments. Since Richard has been working with him, we have really noticed significant improvement. Richard has such a patient and caring manner, and has really shown a knack for getting my son to sit down and focus on his lessons. He has always been extremely well prepared, and usually brings his own material which he puts together based on his assessment of areas in which my son needs more practice. He has also done wonders to help build my son's confidence, and is quick to praise my son for tasks he's mastered or done well. I have been very impressed with Richard's assessments of my son's strengths, weaknesses as well has his progress during lessons, and appreciate the thorough written summaries he provides after each lesson. Most importantly, my son seems to really enjoy working with Richard and for the first time in a long time doesn't seem to mind working on math. I would highly recommend Richard as a tutor to anyone with young children who are struggling in school.

Candace F. from Malvern, PA Rick has been tutoring our daughter since the beginning of 2014. We started with him for two times a week and then increased to three times a week because of the success our daughter, who is about to turn six, has had with him. In the fall parent teacher conference for her kindergarten class, we found out our daughter was struggling with reading and math. However, by the time the end of the March parent teacher conference came along, it was a whole different evaluation from the Teacher---she had made great strides and was on track with learning. My wife and I believe that much of the change was due to the extra time spent with "Mr. Rick". He has the unique ability to focus on areas where the child needs the most support. He is very kind, patient and understanding. Sometimes my daughter can be a little cranky and he knows how to deal with that very well. We have referred Mr. Rick to two other children's parents in our area, as we think he is an excellent tutor.
