Susan L. from Northfield, NJ First, I am the parent of the student. Second, I chose Kate because of the way she presented her description of her abilities on the WyzAnt website. She followed up quickly and asked what, if anything should she be aware of about my daughter's study/learning abilities. Kate was prompt and accommodating with her time for our daughter. Third we contacted her to assist our daughter with her SAT test. Our daughter is an Honors and advanced class student, yet didn't do as well as we had expected on her SAT's; her score didn't reflect her ability. I can't say whether Kate's tutoring helped yet because my daughter hasn't retaken her SAT. I will update this in a couple of months if I can. Kate's style and concerns are what impressed me. I contacted her to help our daughter with the critical reading / reading comprehension portion of the SAT, though I didn't think my daughter did as well as she could have in the Math portion of the SAT either. We didn't know what the problem was. Kate took to heart that our daughter suffered from ADHD when she was younger. While it doesn't go away, it does require coping skills. My daughter really appreciated Kate's patience, and purposeful repetition with her weaknesses. She also gave my daughter homework. We thought that was great too because it enabled Kate to see and understand the areas where and why my daughter was messing up and rectify. Kate also DID help her with her Math! Kate was able to hone in on my daughters problem and create a strategy that gave my daughter renewed confidence to retake her SAT and expect a better outcome. My daughter and I whole-heartedly recommend Kate.
