Hi, my name is Chelsea. I received my Bachelor of Science from Hillsdale College. I majored in chemistry and minored in biology. While at Hillsdale, I used surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) to study how cephapirin binds to soil. In layman’s terms, I look at how an antibiotic used for dairy cattle attached itself to the soil. The goal of this research was to see if the antibiotic would travel through soil causing antibiotic resistance.
