David F. leads a multifaceted career as a musician, educator, and administrator. As a tuba player and recent graduate from The Juilliard School (BM ’18, MM ’20), David has had the opportunity to perform worldwide across North America, Europe, and Asia. In 2019, orchestral engagements alone took him from Carnegie Hall all the way to BBC Proms at Royal Albert Hall.
An avid educator, David enjoys teaching students of all ages and disciplines, ranging from large ensembles to private instruction. Through two Juilliard fellowships, he was both a Morse Teaching Artist and MAP (Music Advancement Program) Fellow. As a Morse TA, he taught general music education to a class of elementary students at Thurgood Marshall Academy in Harlem; while as a MAP Fellow, he taught and mentored high school brass players. Outside of Juilliard, David is on faculty at Eugene’s Music Studio in White Plains, NY.
In addition to performing and teaching, David has extensive experience in arts administration. In the fall of 2020, David returned to Juilliard as an associate in the office of Alumni Relations. Prior to his current position, he interned at The Metropolitan Opera, where he worked for general manager Peter Gelb. Throughout his time as a student at Juilliard, he held several positions as an assistant in the offices of Student Affairs and Residence Life.
